Rony got home late last night from Disney... poor bubu, all tired from work... so after i kept him company for dinner, we went straight ahead and watched House of Wax... so dumb... I swear... quite predictable... well we started it na and although Rony was falling asleep at the beginning he stayed up with me and tortured ourselves for the rest of the night...

... the next day...

Went around Tsim Sha Tsui... to the space museum we went... saw this human body film on a huge ass dome screen, as in the screen was a huge dome... super larger than life... almost fell asleep on that one, but some parts were interesting... not so bad... then took a quick tour of the space gadgets and stuff... well... i think my brother would have appreciated it more... i'm not too much of a space technology fan. However what I enjoyed the most were the ancient methods in which various civilizations (Mayan, Egyptians, Native Americans, etc.) observed the cosmos even creating their accurate 365 calendars, my my... we earthlings are indeed curious beings hehe...

After that to the Avenue of the Stars we went, I guess it's like the Hollywood walk of fame with Hong Kong Stars and their hand prints on the ground...

Really fun taking pics and walking around. Had an awesome view of the Hong Kong skyline and the weather was perfect, not hot not cold... My bubu and I had fun being "tourists" and doing all the touristy things people get to do hehe. I loved it. Am gonna miss spending time with Rony *sigh*

Actually the real reason why am here in HK is cause I am doing a foreign film to be entered in the Asian Film Festival in Bangladesh, am playing myself ofcourse, see?

Anyhoo... after taking pictures we decided to walk around Nathan Road and got my sister this really nice tube-dress or whatever u call it, of course I had to explain that it was for her to the Chinese woman helping me cause she was looking at me funny. Came across this street where they named me...

Had dinner at this Chinese Teahouse, awesome food, sweet and sour pork curry friend rice is all we needed to calm our tummy... tried this weird chicken and scallops wrapped in some kind of gooey rice wrap... hmmm... okay lang...

Then at the Starbucks Rony and I went to the first time I went to HK... we're just making more memories together... lovely ain't it?

Then off we went back to Avenue of the Stars to watch the light spectacle... Bubu and I were by the pier looking over the skyline once again... I would like to say that I was thrilled... but it was a bit unexciting... still, Rony and I got awesome shots... and we don't have none of that in our dear old mother land so I was impressed with the lasers rays shooting out from the buildings and the colorful lights.

After the light show, stopped by Harbor City mall and checked out the stores, got a foundation from Mac (you know, Mac? You can buy all the make up that mac can make?--- Unpretty by TLC) so I have one for the next show I do...

Then took two ferry rides before finally docking to Discovery bay. Stopped by the grocery and bought food for tomorrow's lunch with Rony's friend (who happens to be one fo my brothers schoolmates back in elementary--- small world)...

Haaay, Hong Kong--- Live it, Love it!

Good night world!

so im here in Hong Kong, been out a couple of times, went shopping in Mong Kok, Dinner and a ferry Ride to Hong Kong Central, Of course spending two days in Disneyland (hotel and park), it's been so great so far. I spend the earlier part of the day though just hanging out here at home, maybe even going to the Discovery bay Plaza to have lunch--- food trippin, reading the Sweet Charity Script, watching DVDs, I'm not bored at all. Life here, as I have experienced it thus far, is so relaxed, well maybe cause I'm on vacation.

There is also a huge sense of independence where you're here in HK. The efficient bus schedules and MTR routes are just so convenient, you can practically go anywhere in HK and won't feel like you're lost at all. Ofocurse I have yet to explore and wonder HK by myself. I gotta try it one of these days, but I'd rather share the memories of HK with Rony... at least that way there's someone to take pictures! hehe...

Cooked a nice meal for Rony last night. Well, it was a rather simple meal really. Breaded pork chops for Rony and ginataang calabas at sitaw for me (Squash and Long Beans in coconut milk sauce--- in-English pa talaga, why not?)--- Rony doesn't eat gulay mind you.

So yun from work Rony got home as I was preparing the meal---taught him how to bread the pork chop so it wouldn't be too boring and a little more crispy and golden when cooked. Yum! I am not the best cook in my family (my siblings are awesome, they got they're own specialties i.e. my older brother Alexis copies from what he tastes in restaurants, My sister Faye is an expert in Filipino food as in Adobo, Sinigang, Pinakbet, Kare-Kare, and Ate Roma, Alexis' wife and Carlo the youngest experiment with flavors and mixes of food that they do not know what to name their recipes, but they come out excellent though, me--- prito and pasta hehe--- pababy effect sa bahay--- I give the money they make the food and I slice the ingridients or wear an apron and "supervise" hehe ), but the least of the best as Rony put it, is good enough for him!

So I made some creamy-mushroom sauce for the pork chops and the ginataang calabasa and sitaw was all mine (kasi I miss the food na din at home eh, that's why I made it)! I love grocery shopping and yesterday I was thrilled to be walking around Park and Shop and living the Stepford wife/Desperate Housewife experience... Bought Rony some spices, Green seedless grapes, the yogurt was on sale so I got that too... as in food shopping here reminded me so much of how it was in the States... fun fun fun!

Lunch at subway yesterday and saw Rallion Alonso (Shark's brother--- basta he's a theatre person in the Philippines) and his girlfriend Des so I stopped by and said hello. After that went over to Watsons to by lubrication... er... for the squeaky screws on Rony's door... KIDDING PEOPLE!!! anyway came across this 3 day detox drink diet... I was curious--- I bought it, but I probably won't even try it. Shet...

Cleaning lady was here at Rony's place today, she cleaned, I slept till 3. She left at 5 and now I'm here... thinking of what to cook for Rony. Don't know if we're going out tonight, we like to be spontaneous and just go with the flow sometimes, there are always night markets and what-nots here so I'm sure there's still something to do.

Last night bubu and I cuddled and watch the first four episodes of the 2nd season of Desperate Housewives... felt nice to be watching in darkness while Rony is right next to me... *sigh* I'll miss this!

That was fun... room was super neat with a Jacuzzi and everything... *sigh* heaven. Actually the entire theme of the hotel was quite impressive... so very new england Victorian age...

Anyhoo... we went around the hotel, from pretending to be mermaids to trying out the maze... it was amazing...

finally on a break from school... hay shet... the things I could give so i can just graduate and do my own thing in life...

but like what I told myfriend before, I gotta grow up learning and knowing something, and be smart. All the philosophy, theology, and theatre history crap that I'm learning... they'll be coffee book conversations someday and I will have something to say...

Note to self: I have to be smart. Stay in school fucker!

Finally settled all my financial accounts in school and am clear for the next semester thanks to my grandparents and tita!!! I love them. Have a month's worth of a break so am definitely use up every moment of it. Leaving for HK on friday at arund 3 so gta be by the airport round noon... and to the arms of my love will I be for a good two weeks!!!

I am so excited to be with Rony again and see his apartment and spend time with him and eat with him and cuddle with him and hug him and... you get the point hehe. Also I'll be seeing Mickey and his friends, it'll be my first time in to visit Disneyland... Can't believe all my years in the US, I never stepped foot on the happiest place on earth hehe.

Had a meeting with the creative team of BlueRepertory's Sweet Charity. The next production our theatre org will be producing with Chari, same director for Footloose and Merrilly-We-Roll-Along.

Ultimate Sacrifice... Yuck ang babaw neto... but anyhoo, I love acting and performing on stage. But I might not be able to be part of the cast of Sweet Charity because I have the show needed a production manager. not that I am not happy or I felt forced to be PM... it's just that I know once I see the cast rehearsing, i would wish I was doing the show.

ON THE OTHER HAND, I know that PMing the show will be a learning experience for me as a theatre arts major, every little experience will help me out and when is the better time to start right? I'm actually quite nervous about all this, last night I called up Miss Sissa, our PM from Footloose and asked her a bunch of questions about the responsibilities of one in my position... She was quite helpful and encouraging and gave me advise and told me to email or call her if I had any more questions... And I went online and got on a bunch of theatre company websites and looked up what Production managers do...

Hopefully talaga I do a really good job. I know am gna mess up one way or the other cause it's my first time, but I know I'll gain a lot by doing this. And it's for BlueRep, I have to give back some of the good shit I've learned from what I know about theatre so far. But I'll be under Chari, I'll just do as she commands...

Went to the BlueRevue party on Saturday... all I can say is that I feel old among the new members... now I know what sila gabs felt hehehe. Party started off a bit bland for my taste at the beginning, but then again this was the party of the newbies, and I didn't know a lot of them, so I just enjoyed myself and once the vodka kicked in... wooohooo party it was!

Slept over Gerauld's with Shark and Pao Ebora that night... while Jill and her guy Micah were sucking each other's toes or something... Gerauld and I heard slurping noises... haha...

Went on a food trip the next day... thanks to Gerauld's gracious accomodations, breakfast and lunch were provided for and we went to see 40 year old virgin... before that we had go nuts donuts, mexicali, and terriyaki boy!!!! yebah!

That's why i like being friends with guys! So much fun!

had a surprise party for Chari last night at her office at the works... well it was a sorta surprise party, one of our friends from Footloose texted Chari earlier that evening apologizing that she couldn't go. Naturally, she figured that something was cooking up the pot. It was a pleasant night of laughs and drinks though. Also nice to see people that I haven't seen after Footloose, and of course nice to be in the company of Chari and the lovely Abi!!!

long day today... just got home a little while ago... had dinner with some BlueReppers who I haven't hung out with in a while. That was after the 1st day of my Acting Class Final Showcase...

sooo tired, still have to write a research paper and come up with a presentation on the aesthetics of poetry, imagine that!

Anyhoo, yeah im wearing make up... haven't showered yet. As i said I had a show today, a culminating presentation of my acting class. In one of the plays, I play Luis, a necrophiliac doctor. How morbid right? But it's a really nice play, with good writing and ofcourse my fellow actors were the best! It was in tagalog so it was a bit different from the plays I have done before, and I loved it!

I think this acting thing is really for me... *sigh*

My mother got into an accident this morning on her way to La Union to get her passport. Shet... She took a bus there and the bus got into an accident, some people were all bloody, thank God the only galos she had was a swollen cheeck and some muscle aches. I'm really really thankful that she is okay. She called kanina and wanted us to not worry about her anymore. Haaay, I miss my mom too... She and my dad work too hard. They’re planning to go to the US, hopefully that works out fine as well.

Cut Loose! Footloose! I'll miss these freakz-uh!

Nothing beats staying in on a Friday night just because you want. The weather is nice, a little drizzle here and there, makes for a nice kool breeze afterwards. Am on a sentimental mood right, just watched Cinderella Man starring Rene Zelweigger (how ever you spell it, I don’t wanna look it up) and Russell Crowe on DVD. Very nice story, if my sister didn’t arrive and my nephew’s nanny wasn’t around I’d be bawling my eyes out. So sad, very hopeful… and (whoa, the rain has just gotten more intense as of right now… and I wanted to catch the last full show of Land of the Dead… hehe… I’m a sucker for zombie movies, oh well I guess the undead will have to wait).

Anyway, I guess this is the long overdue update on this blog. Been so busy the past couple of weeks, so all my free time have been devoted to sleep and some studying.

On Footloose:

Friday matinee I messed up pretty bad on the Mama Says acapella part. So everyone got thrown off and there was sharping and flating of notes all over. One of my cast members, was freaking out because one of the Little Mermaid casters was there and he sorta wants to be in Mermaid. Of all the days, why that show pa daw that we messed up the harmony (actually I messed up the harmony, so I was like calm down buddy. I tried to be kool about it cause I don’t like people getting on my nerves. And I know that it was my responsibility to hit the notes correctly, but he was treating it like it was the end of the world. As in todo yelling and telling me how I dragged down that part of the song). I don’t know, the way I deal with things, I just keep it kool and deal with what I have to personally… in my head… by myself or whatever… I hate freaking out, so I just get over it right away, make a laugh out of it, and do better. But this time around, I felt sorta down because we were nearing the run of Footloose and for someone to really be telling me how I messed up and that it was not his fault that they tried to make habol the notes, and instead, causing a cacophony, I mean who wouldn’t feel inadequate right? It was hard to shake off that “burden”… they always tell me not to think about the notes, relax, etc… I mean, I don’t know if they see me try, but I did, and I do… sorry I messed up…

Yeah well it was my fault anyway… so being the happy person that I am; I wiped it off like shit outta my ass and flushed it down the drain… I know I’ll just have to learn from this shit and be professional about it. Sooo, I stopped feeling bad and the 8 PM was much better, of course thanks to Felix the ghost singer on the right stage wing who was masungit to me and Kyla that entire week by the way.

We had our last show on Sunday, the 25th at 3 PM. Very intense show. Everyone was highly energized and the audience was great. Did I tell you that my favorite part of the show is the curtain call? You know why? Well cause we always get a rousing applause from the audience. And that last bow made me a little emotional. A lot of my cast mates were crying… I don’t recall having cried, but I did get teary eyed after we made our last bow.

Learned a lot from this show and comparing the first time I did Footloose with this one, I really do feel that I have improved somehow from the very first time I tried out this theatre thing. “Bickle” (the name of my character) was more developed, in terms of how I portrayed the role as a nerdy, yet charming *grin* teenager than the “Garvin” character I did before. Whereas back then, it was me playing a part, in this one it was me BEING the part… ay ewan ba kung tama yung pinagsasabi ko, basta I feel better about my acting on this one. Super thanks to Chari who called me last minute to join the cast. I’m not really sad that Footloose is over, I’m happy because I’ve learned a lot from it, and have worked with many great talents in Philippine Theatre.

PARTAY

Need I say more… was fuckin drunk at JayR’s white party… Vodka rocks man! I don’t really know what happened… but I think I was past out the 2nd half of the night, only to wake up and throw up… I had fun though when I was still conscious anyway, we watched a video Robbie and Dan prepared for the cast *tear* was on a laugh trip with people I never thought I get drunk with namely, Agot Isidro, our director Chari, I think our pm Sissa was drunk too… actually everyone was…Woohooo!

We had another party on Wednesday, this time funded by Stages, so we had dinner at Seafood Island in Market Market at The FORT. Awesome food… Plus they gave out Footloose Awards wherein Jennie, Mitch, and Johann presented me with the “We’re Almost Dancing Award” for my bootylicious ass humping dancing in the “Dancing is Not a Crime” number from the play. Hay, yesss, I shall miss the company of these people. Seeing them everyday at rehearsal and having a nice dressing room… I only hope to be part of a professional production again.

REALITY

So am back in school with full force. I definitely have to step up the plate and make extra strides so as not to fail any classes! Hay, heaven help me ng malupet.

Pre-prod work might soon start for Sweet Charity, the next production of BlueRepertory. Hopefully I do well in the auditions so I get to work with Chari again.

PLUS: I give mad kudos to all the performers and production of BlueRevuefor doing a great job.

RONY

Still in Hong Kong… will be visiting him for two precious weeks… can’t wait! That’s my only motivation to end school with a high note, because when I’m in HK, I want to be devoting my time just to him… plus tuition is really expensive in Ateneo… (Why did I go there?) I wonder what I’ll be doing there with him… But you know what, just being with him will be good enough, it’s like we’re living our future there, me the housewife, and him the man of the house… hehe! I love it! I miss you bubu!
